This gallery is made up of pictures of inspiration and designs that I've done over the past few years.

 

It's been a fascinating journey diving into not only the esthetic of design but into the origins of how these patterns came about. For the most part these patterns were anciently inspired by nature. What was so innovative was the way in which my ancestors were able to take an organic shape and turn in into a pleasing modern geometric design that lasted throughout the centuries.

My purpose of creating these pieces is to first, create a pleasing balance of rhythmic yet unpredictable patterns of shape, color and tone and secondly, to visually tell a narrative of my people that teaches both story and design.
